Chief Financial Officer
Z3Talent’s client, a leading environmental solutions provider, has an exciting opportunity for a Chief Financial Officer, to join their leadership team.
Purpose of the Role
This is a high-impact leadership role in a financially stable, high-growth organization. The CFO will play a critical role in shaping the company’s financial strategy, operational efficiency, and acquisition integration as the organization continues expanding. The CFO will oversee all financial and accounting activities, lead financial planning, manage risk, and ensure the company is strategically positioned for long-term success. With a strong focus on mentorship and team development, the CFO will actively support the growth of the finance team, fostering a collaborative leadership approach. This is an opportunity to work directly with the CEO and leadership team, influencing major business decisions and financial operations across multiple entities and geographies.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Financial Leadership & Strategy
Oversee financial planning, accounting, and budgeting across all business units.
Develop and implement scalable financial systems to support continued growth.
Serve as the lead financial strategist, ensuring the company is positioned for sustainable expansion.
Identify opportunities for expansion, including new markets and service offerings.
Monitor financial health and recommend adjustments to optimize profitability.
Build, lead, and develop a high-performing finance team with multi-entity and multi-state expertise.
Accounting & Reporting
Direct the preparation of all financial statements, including:
Income statements
Balance sheets
Cash flow statements
Tax filings and governmental reports
Ensure quality control over all financial transactions and reporting.
Improve real-time financial reporting capabilities to provide actionable insights.
Treasury & Capital Management
Manage cash flow, banking relationships, and funding strategies.
Optimize the company’s capital structure and financial health.
Lead the integration of financial operations for future acquisitions.
Develop and oversee investment strategies for company funds.
Operational Finance & M&A Integration
Support due diligence, valuation, and integration for acquisitions.
Consolidate and optimize back-office functions across multiple entities.
Identify areas in need of restructuring or efficiency improvements.
Ensure that ERP and financial technology solutions are fully leveraged for efficiency.
Qualifications & Experience
The successful candidate will be a self-starter who understands the value of collaboration and the ability to communicate across the organization. The ideal candidate will have expertise in scaling operations and will be comfortable building relationships across the organization.
Experience & Expertise:
15+ years of progressive financial leadership experience, including at least 3 years as CFO or VP of Finance in a $40-$100M company preferably owned by private equity.
Experience in construction, industrial services, or environmental industries is required.
Proven track record in M&A transactions and post-acquisition integration.
Experience working with private equity-backed companies and leveraged balance sheets is a plus.
Deep expertise in accounting, tax, financial modeling, and regulatory compliance.
Strong leadership and team-building skills to scale finance operations effectively.
Technical & Strategic Skills:
ERP experience (Acumatica preferred) and ability to optimize financial technology solutions.
Advanced financial planning, budgeting, and cash flow management expertise.
Ability to streamline multi-entity financial operations and reporting.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to thrive in a fast-moving, high-growth environment.
Education:
A bachelor’s degree (CPA preferred), ideally in accounting, finance, business administration or related discipline.
Compensation Package:
Base Salary Range: $235,000 – $260,000
Performance-Based Bonus: tied to company and individual success.
